Our Story

Our Story

After surviving a shooting during her first year of teaching at her alma mater, Marjory Stoneman Douglas, Brittany Sinitch founded The Unbreakable Organization to help support those affected by senseless tragedies from her family's kitchen table. Today, the mission of The Unbreakable Organization is clear, with high hopes of supporting individuals and communities impacted by gun violence in the aftermath of tragedy. Since 2019, The Unbreakable Organization has granted over $30,000 in scholarships to students affected by gun violence, with the hope that they recognize they are not alone. We understand how crucial one's healing and mental health journey is in the aftermath of gun violence-related tragedies.

To support the mental health of our community, we provide free mental health resources through our online platforms and work with a team of licensed mental health counselors, therapists, and EMDR specialists to ensure that our community never feels alone. The Unbreakable Organization has a team of dedicated individuals working year-round to support our mission, as well as a Youth Advisory Board made up of 15 students from high school to postgraduate levels who are making a real change in the world and carrying out our mission in their communities. Together, we believe it is possible to put your pieces back together again and find what makes you unbreakable.

Even in the darkest moments, you are unbreakable.

Healing through Art

Diversity is an important pillar of The Unbreakable Organization, and to us, this means allowing diverse voices and stories to be heard and told that aren't always given the space to do so. "Songs That Make You Unbreakable" is our original show, which aims to raise funds for our scholarship initiative benefiting students impacted by gun violence. Art can be a healing experience not only for the performers but also for those in the audience, and this show proved to be just that for many. Various singers graced the stage, sharing stories of resilience, hope, and courage through songs that reinforced their narratives, showcased what makes them unbreakable, and reclaimed their power. Everyone has a story and their own definition of what unbreakable means to them. Here, there is always space for anyone to share that.

it takes a village.

Our board of directors at The Unbreakable Organization helps carry out initiatives and make a difference in the world.
